Storm Causes Roof Collapse at Nakhon Ratchasima Train Station

Bangkok: The platform was destroyed by a strong storm; passengers fled for their lives. A dramatic video has emerged showing the roof of platform number 2 collapsing after a severe storm hit in the early evening of April 17th. Passengers narrowly escaped death; there were no injuries or fatalities.

According to Thai News Agency, CCTV footage from Nakhon Ratchasima train station captured the moment the roof of platform number 2 collapsed after a severe storm with heavy rain and strong winds on the evening of April 17, 2026. Passengers and security personnel narrowly escaped death by a fraction of a second before the roof collapsed, almost hitting a security guard. Fortunately, there were no fatalities or injuries.

Authorities have cordoned off the area, preventing passengers from entering or exiting platform number 2, as well as the railway overpass, for safety reasons. They are also clearing debris from broken roof tiles scattered throughout the area before repairs are underway. However, this does not affect train operations; services are continuing as normal.
