Bangkok: Mr. Suchart Chomklin, the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, addressed the media to clarify his professional association with Mr. Nattawut Wongniem, who has recently been implicated in an alleged assault on Mr. Somchai Srisutthiyakorn, a former Election Commissioner. Suchart emphasized that Mr. Nattawut was not a personal advisor but was contracted through his law firm to handle specific cases, all of which have now been concluded.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Suchart elaborated that Mr. Nattawut was engaged to manage two or three legal cases, and upon completion of these contractual obligations, his services were terminated. Mr. Suchart underscored that he employs a diverse legal advisory team, with over ten different specialists catering to various legal needs, and Mr. Nattawut was merely one of these specialists.
In response to inquiries about Mr. Nattawut's alleged violent actions, Mr. Suchart expressed his disapproval of any form of violence. He acknowledged that while he is familiar with Mr. Nattawut, he cannot control or dictate the personal actions of others, as they are governed by individual maturity levels. Nonetheless, he acted promptly to end the professional relationship after the incident that stirred public concern.
Mr. Suchart expressed gratitude towards the media and acquaintances for their inquiries, reiterating that Mr. Nattawut was not a personal advisor but a professional hired for specific legal services.
