Amnat charoen: Mr. Surasak Panjaroenworakul and Mrs. Suksomruay Wantaniyakul co-chaired a significant meeting focused on addressing the long-standing issue of sports facility development in Amnat Charoen. The meeting was held in the Phra Mongkol Ming Muang Meeting Room at the Amnat Charoen Provincial Hall, with executives from the Ministry, Ms. Yaneenath Khemmanak, Member of Parliament for Amnat Charoen Province, and various government department heads in attendance.
According to Thai News Agency, the Minister of Tourism and Sports subsequently led a delegation to inspect several sports infrastructures in the province. This included visits to a 1,000-seat multi-purpose gymnasium, the Amnat Charoen Provincial Swimming Pool, and particularly the Amnat Charoen Provincial Stadium. The site visit aimed to address existing problems, expedite stalled construction projects, and revitalize the long-delayed "Amnat Charoen Provincial Stadium" project that has been pending for over a decade.
Mr. Surasak emphasized the urgency, stating that the Ministry has instructed relevant agencies to accelerate the resolution process at all stages. He asserted the necessity for this central sports stadium to be completed and operational by 2027, aligning with the target set for public use.
The minister highlighted the transformative impact of completing the stadium on the province. In sports and health, it will facilitate sports competitions at various levels, aid in youth athlete development, and provide a standardized exercise venue for the public. Economically, the stadium is expected to enhance sports tourism, attract visitors, stimulate local economic growth, and improve the quality of life for residents in a sustainable manner.
