Suriya Juangroongruangkit Firmly Backs Prime Minister Amid Censure Debate

Bangkok: Suriya Juangroongruangkit, Deputy Prime Minister and Transport Minister, has expressed full support for the Prime Minister following the government's defense during the recent no-confidence debate. He criticized the opposition's information as lacking substance.

According to Thai News Agency, Suriya shared his satisfaction with the government's overall explanation, particularly highlighting the Prime Minister's clear responses. He noted that the opposition's arguments seemed to lack significant content, describing them as mere "seasoning" without "meat."

Suriya addressed concerns regarding the opposition's criticism of Pheu Thai MPs who disrupted the debate, stating that his party aimed to protest only when necessary. He expressed confidence in the government's ability to counter the opposition's accusations, highlighting that each minister provided clear answers.

Specifically, Suriya mentioned his preparedness to address issues raised by Surachet Praweenwongwut, a party-list MP of the Prachachon Party, regarding the Ministry of Transport. He assured clarity in his explanations.

Regarding potential legal actions tied to the debate's references to former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra, Suriya indicated that the party would review the matter further. He also suggested that the media might share his view that the opposition's issues were less substantial than anticipated.

Looking ahead to the upcoming vote, Suriya reiterated his unwavering support for the Prime Minister, emphasizing the importance of the government's thorough explanations over mere numerical victory. He declined to self-evaluate but described the opposition's contributions as lacking in depth.
