Thanyaburi: A taxi remained parked at a bus stop from noon until evening, unnoticed by passersby, until a corn vendor discovered the driver deceased inside. The taxi, located on the side of Rangsit-Pathum Thani Road, Soi 21, Thanyaburi District, Pathum Thani Province, was found in front of a bus stop. The deceased, identified as Mr. Somnuk, aged 67, was found in a green and yellow taxi with no signs of assault.
According to Thai News Agency, police from the Pratunam Chulalongkorn Police Station were alerted to the situation by the corn vendor who noticed something was amiss. The vendor reported that the taxi had been parked since before noon and several passengers had attempted to use the service, only to leave when the driver did not respond. It wasn’t until another taxi honked, attempting to get Mr. Somnuk to move, that the vendor and local villagers decided to investigate, discovering the driver slumped with his neck bent.
Upon opening the driver’s side door, it was clear that Mr. Somnuk had passed away
. Authorities from the Por Tek Tung Foundation assisted in removing the body for further examination. No personal medication was found in the vehicle, adding to the mystery of the driver’s sudden death. The case remains under investigation by local police.
