Thai Festival in Bern Showcases Traditional Thai Culture Through Fashion Show

Bern: The Royal Thai Embassy organized a Thai Festival in Bern, Switzerland, featuring a fashion show with diplomats from various countries showcasing traditional Thai costumes. The festival, held from July 4-5, was a significant cultural event aimed at promoting Thai heritage.

According to Thai News Agency, the 27th Thai Festival was officially opened by Ambassador Pannapa Chandrarom and Mr. Markus Leitner, Assistant Permanent Secretary of the Swiss Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The opening ceremony was attended by government representatives, foreign diplomatic missions in Switzerland, honorary Thai consuls-general in Basel and Zurich, Team Thailand members, and representatives from the private sector.

This year's festival highlights included a fashion show displaying eight styles of royal-approved Thai silk garments and other everyday Thai attire. The event also featured stalls selling Thai clothing, food, and products directly from Thailand. Visitors could enjoy Thai massages, cultural performances, and gather information from booths set up by Team Thailand agencies, such as the Department of International Trade Promotion, the Tourism Authority of Thailand, and Thai Airways International, offering insights into business, tourism, and flight options.

Attendees were also offered the opportunity to participate in a raffle with the chance to win grand prizes, including round-trip air tickets on the Zurich-Bangkok route from Thai Airways and hotel accommodation vouchers in Thailand.
