Bangkok: Thai fuel prices are expected to rise by 0.70-0.80 baht per liter tomorrow, following the continued surge in global oil prices and the Oil Fund's deficit exceeding 83 billion baht. The Fuel Fund Office announced that the Fuel Fund Management Committee (FFMC) meeting today approved an increase in the retail price of all types of fuel.
According to Thai News Agency, diesel prices will increase by 0.70 baht per liter, and gasoline prices will increase by 0.80 baht per liter. This price increase will take effect from September 9, 2026. The increase stems from escalating geopolitical tensions in the Middle East between the United States and Iran, with no signs of negotiation to de-escalate tensions and reopen shipping lanes in the Strait of Hormuz. Concerns about potential crude oil supply disruptions have led to a sharp rise in global oil prices. As a result, the price of diesel in Singapore surged to over US$172 per barrel on September 8, 2026, while gasoline prices increased by approximately US$137 per barrel.
These factors led the Oil Fund Committee to decide to reduce subsidies due to the continued volatility of global oil prices at a critical level. Reducing subsidies and allowing retail prices to better reflect true costs is a necessary approach to create balance and liquidity for the Oil Fund, which bears a high subsidy burden of approximately 500 million baht per day. Specifically, for diesel fuel, the subsidy for regular diesel was increased by 0.03 baht per liter, to 5.80 baht per liter, resulting in a retail price of 39.84 baht per liter. The subsidy for B20 diesel was reduced by 0.06 baht per liter, to 10.06 baht per liter, resulting in a retail price of 34.84 baht per liter. The tax on premium diesel remains at 1.50 baht per liter.
For gasoline and gasohol fuels, the fuel fund levy for gasoline has been reduced by 0.27 baht per liter, increasing to 4.55 baht per liter, resulting in a retail price of 48.08 baht per liter. The subsidy for Gasohol 95 has been increased by 0.18 baht per liter, bringing the total subsidy to 2.37 baht per liter, resulting in a retail price of 39.09 baht per liter. The subsidy for Gasohol 91 has also been increased by 0.18 baht per liter, increasing the total subsidy to 2.37 baht per liter, resulting in a retail price of 38.72 baht per liter. The subsidy for Gasohol E20 has been increased by 0.08 baht per liter, increasing the total subsidy to 5.77 baht per liter, resulting in a retail price of 34.09 baht per liter. Finally, the subsidy for Gasohol E85 has been reduced by 0.50 baht per liter, increasing the total subsidy to 2.60 baht per liter, resulting in a retail price of 30.03 baht per liter. These new fuel fund rates will be effective from September 9, 2026.

This will help reduce personal expenses and strengthen the Oil and Gas Management Fund so that it can sustainably support all citizens in the future.
PTT Station has adjusted the retail price of all types of gasoline and gasohol, increasing by 0.80 baht per liter, except for Premium GSH95 and Premium GSH99, which remain unchanged. All types of diesel have increased by 0.70 baht per liter, except for Premium Diesel, which remains unchanged. These changes are effective from 5:00 AM on September 9, 2026. The new retail prices will be as follows: ULG = 48.08 baht, GSH95 = 39.09 baht, E20 = 34.09 baht, E85 = 30.03 baht, GSH91 = 38.72 baht, Premium GSH95 = 47.79 baht, Premium GSH99 = 49.79 baht, HSD B7 = 39.84 baht, HSD B20 = 34.84 baht, Premium Diesel = 50.05 baht. The above retail prices exclude the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration maintenance tax.
