Bangkok: His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen presided over a series of significant ceremonial events at Dusit Palace, bestowing certificates to barristers and receiving honorary degrees and gifts.
According to Thai News Agency, the monarchs first descended to Dusit Hall, Chitralada Garden, to present certificates to the successful candidates of the Bar Association of Thailand's Legal Training Institute. This event celebrated the achievements of the 77th session, academic year 2024. Additionally, barristers from the 76th class, academic year 2023, who had not previously had the opportunity, were also granted an audience to receive their certificates.
Later, the royal couple moved to Amporn Sathan Throne Hall, where they received Phra Sophonthamawong (Wasok Panya-akkho), Abbot of Wat Intharaviharn, and executives from Chalermkarnchana University. During this audience, the monarchs were presented with ancient Buddha images as part of the New Year, Buddhist Era 2569 celebrations. The King and Queen received several Sukhothai and Ayutthaya style Buddha images, each with historical and cultural significance.
Subsequently, His Majesty the King was honored with an honorary Doctor of Science degree in Sports Science from Suranaree University of Technology, presented by Professor Dr. Vicharn Panich and the university's executive committee.
Following this, Her Majesty the Queen received an honorary Doctor of Philosophy degree in Sports Science and Exercise from Thaksin University. Professor Somkid Lertpaithoon, along with the university's executive committee, presented the degree, along with commemorative gifts to both the King and Queen.
