According to Thai News Agency, today at the Vietnamese Government Palace in Hanoi, Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, Prime Minister, attended the official welcoming ceremony, which was organized by Mr. Pham Minh Chinh, Prime Minister of Vietnam, marking her first official visit to Vietnam as Prime Minister.
Following the ceremony, both leaders engaged in bilateral discussions, joined by Mr. Suriya Juangroongruangkit, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport, Mr. Maris Sengiampong, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Surawong Thienthong, Minister of Tourism and Sports, and Mr. Chulaphan Amornvivat, Deputy Minister of Finance. The discussions aimed to enhance relations and promote cooperation in various sectors between the two nations.
The Thai and Vietnamese Prime Ministers expressed their mutual intention to elevate their relationship to a 'Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.' They held discussions on politics, security, economics, and society, emphasizing the importance of maintaining regular high-level exchanges. They agreed to promote security cooperation, balanced trade growth, and support mutual private sector investment. The Vietnamese Prime Minister expressed willingness to foster mutual investment, and both sides also discussed tourism promotion and regional issues.
Concluding the discussions, the Prime Ministers co-chaired the 4th Thailand-Vietnam Joint Cabinet Retreat (JCR), focusing on enhancing policy cooperation at the cabinet level between the two countries.
