Thai Prime Minister Visits Vietnam for ASEAN Future Forum and Strengthening Bilateral Ties

Hanoi: The Prime Minister and his delegation are on an official visit to Vietnam to attend the ASEAN Future Forum. They aim to further promote Thai-Vietnamese cooperation towards tangible results.

According to Thai News Agency, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul is in Vietnam, accompanied by a delegation of key ministers and senior executives. The team includes Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sihasak Phuangketkaew, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Ekniti Nitithanprapha, and other notable officials from the Thai government. The visit is the first by a Thai Prime Minister since the Vietnamese leader's recent trip to Thailand, marking a significant step in strengthening relations between the two countries.

During his visit, the Prime Minister will engage in discussions with Vietnamese leaders, including the President, Prime Minister, and Chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam. He is also set to meet with Thai private sector representatives investing in Vietnam. The aim is to advance from "good relations" to "tangible results" in alignment with shared goals.

The Prime Minister is also attending the 3rd ASEAN Future Forum (AFF), a strategic platform for regional discussions. This is the first time a Thai Prime Minister has personally attended, highlighting the importance of the forum and the close ties between Thailand and Vietnam. The forum is centered around the theme "Shaping our Future Together: Peace, Prosperity, People-Centered," addressing regional challenges and promoting a people-centered ASEAN community. Leaders from several countries, including Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, and Timor-Leste, are participating.

The Prime Minister and his delegation landed at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi, where they will hold discussions with Vietnamese leaders and a meeting with Thai private sector representatives. The visit includes an official welcoming ceremony and a dinner hosted by the Vietnamese Prime Minister.

On the final day, the Prime Minister will attend the opening ceremony of the 3rd ASEAN Future Forum at the Melia Hanoi Hotel. He will also participate in the Thailand-Vietnam Investment and Business Forum organized by the Board of Investment (BOI) before returning to Thailand in the evening.
