Thai SMEs See New Opportunities in China’s Economic Cities

Bangkok:The Office of Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion (OSMEP) has partnered with Prince of Songkla University (PSU) to launch the 'Thai SMEs New Opportunity Gateways' initiative. This project aims to open trade routes in four major economic cities in China—Hangzhou, Guangzhou, Chongqing, and Shenzhen—to help Thai small and medium enterprises (SMEs) access global markets.

According to Thai News Agency, the initiative seeks to expand Thai SMEs' trade opportunities in international markets across Asia, ASEAN, the Middle East, and Europe, with a particular focus on the People's Republic of China. The collaboration involves Digilink (Thailand) Co., Ltd. and Alibaba Group, providing expertise and support to participating entrepreneurs.

The project will support Thai SMEs by enhancing their brand image globally, expanding trade into new markets, and establishing partnerships with key distributors in China. It will also involve business matching and training to strengthen the participants' capabilities.

Entrepreneurs can apply for the project from October 1-26, 2026. The program is organized in three phases, starting with applications, followed by workshops, and culminating in roadshow events in China. The initiative is expected to benefit at least 700 Thai SMEs, helping them engage in business negotiations and showcase their products in international markets.
