Thailand Aims to Leverage IMF-World Bank 2026 Forum for Economic Growth

Sanaa:Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Ekniti Nitithanprapas, highlighted plans for Thailand to use the upcoming IMF-World Bank 2026 meetings to enhance its global economic role. Speaking on the 9 MCOT HD Channel 30 program 'Listen Carefully,' Ekniti emphasized the opportunity to transform Thailand into a hub for global economic and financial connectivity.

According to Thai News Agency, Ekniti stressed the significance of hosting the meetings as a platform to boost investor confidence and showcase Thailand's potential as a middle power. The event is seen as a pivotal moment for Thailand to assert its role in international cooperation and economic integration.

The Deputy Prime Minister outlined the objective of positioning Thailand as a key player capable of bridging global economic gaps. He highlighted the importance of leveraging the country's infrastructure and regional connections to attract investment and foster economic growth.

The 2026 conference, the first of its kind in Thailand since 1991, is anticipated to draw 40,000-50,000 participants.
