According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Lalida Periswiwatana, Deputy Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, revealed insights from monitoring Chinese media coverage of Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul's visit to the People's Republic of China. The coverage highlighted Thailand's potential as a significant hub for artificial intelligence (AI) cooperation, emphasizing its role as a crucial gateway connecting China with the ASEAN region. Thailand's economic strengths, strategic geographical location, and market potential were deemed conducive to fostering cooperation in technology, innovation, and the digital economy between the two nations.
The deputy spokesperson shared that the China Youth Daily specifically analyzed Thailand's robust economic development foundation and its increasing need for AI technology across various sectors. These include agriculture, tourism, manufacturing, and healthcare, where AI can significantly enhance efficiency and economic value. The publication also emphasized Thailand's central location within ASEAN, positioning it as an essential gateway for connecting China with Southeast Asian markets and identifying it as one of the region's key economies.
Moreover, Chinese media cited Chinese academics who believe that the Thai Prime Minister's visit to China will strategically strengthen Thai-Chinese cooperation.
