Thammanat Denies Escaping Politics Amid Europe Trip Speculations

Bangkok: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, Captain Thammanat Promphao, has dismissed claims suggesting his recent trip to Europe was an attempt to escape political pressures. Thammanat clarified that the circulating rumors about the party being pushed into opposition are baseless and originated from media speculation.

According to Thai News Agency, Captain Thammanat emphasized that the party's position has not changed from its original stance, and no new issues have emerged beyond what has been previously announced by the party's secretary-general. He mentioned that he has not had a chance to speak with Narumon Pinyosinwat since her meeting with the Prime Minister, as she was occupied with other engagements and returned home late.

Thammanat explained his absence from a recent event with the Prime Minister, stating that he had canceled his attendance in advance due to prior commitments. He reiterated that the party's political strategy remains unchanged from its approach before joining the previous government, focusing on stability and tasking Narumon Pinyosinwat and Pai Lik as key figures in political negotiations.

Addressing rumors about not joining the government, Thammanat expressed uncertainty regarding their origin and attributed them to potential media misinterpretations. He also shared future plans, highlighting an upcoming meeting with party MPs before his scheduled trip to Europe. Concluding on a lighter note, Thammanat expressed his current focus on personal leisure, particularly looking forward to witnessing the Northern Lights.
