The People’s Party Calls for Government Action on Middle East Tensions

Bangkok: The People’s Party is urging the government to take immediate action on three critical missions to address the rising tensions in the Middle East, emphasizing the protection and interests of Thailand and its citizens.

According to Thai News Agency, the People’s Party has expressed deep concern over the escalating situation in the Middle East, recognizing its potential impact on global stability, economic conditions, and the safety of individuals, including Thai nationals. The party insists on adherence to international law and advocates for a peaceful resolution to the ongoing disputes.

To safeguard Thailand’s interests, the People’s Party outlines three key areas for government action. Firstly, they highlight the importance of prioritizing the safety of Thai citizens abroad. The party supports the government’s use of diplomatic channels and evacuation plans for those in high-risk regions, alongside providing clear travel advisories and coordinating emergency travel routes.

Secondly, the People’s Party emphasizes the need for economic measures to mitigate the effects of Middle East tensions on Thailand. They suggest preparing strategies to manage energy price volatility, ensuring market stability, and offering assistance to vulnerable groups. Additionally, there is a call for monitoring impacts on trade and supporting businesses in adapting to these challenges.

Lastly, the party encourages Thailand’s active participation on the global stage to restore international order, advocating for cooperation with ASEAN and other international partners. The aim is to promote ceasefire efforts and uphold a rules-based international framework, ensuring long-term security for Thailand and its people.

The People’s Party urges the government to implement both immediate and strategic measures to address the current geopolitical instability and prepare for future uncertainties, thereby fostering resilience among the Thai population and economy.
