Traditional Thai Costumes Promoted at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport

Paris:Traditional Thai costumes have been prominently displayed at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport, France's largest and Europe's third busiest airport, as part of an initiative to register them as intangible cultural heritage.

According to Thai News Agency, the display of "Royal Thai Traditional Dress" on projector screens in the center of the airport is part of a broader effort led by Ms. Sabida Thaiseth, the Minister of Culture. She is advocating for the registration of Thai traditional clothing as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity with UNESCO, with a decision expected in December 2026.

The "Royal Thai Dress" has also been showcased on giant billboards in various locations worldwide, including a prominent display in Paris and in three central business districts of Tokyo, helping to raise awareness and appreciation of this cultural heritage.
