Trump Sets 10-15 Day Deadline for Iran Nuclear Deal

Bangkok: President Donald Trump has issued a stern ultimatum to Iran, demanding that the nation finalize a nuclear agreement within 10 to 15 days or face severe repercussions. During the inaugural meeting of the peace committee in Washington, D.C., Trump emphasized that while the airstrikes last June had obliterated Iran's nuclear infrastructure, further action from the United States might still be on the table, though it might not be required.

According to Thai News Agency, Trump, during an interview aboard Air Force One, reiterated his deadline, stating, "we'll know in about 10 days, or maybe 15 days at most," but refrained from divulging additional information. He emphasized the need for Iran to come to an agreement, highlighting the potential for a worst-case scenario if they failed to do so.

In response, Iran has communicated to the UN Secretary-General its commitment to not initiating any warfare but asserted that it would respond firmly and appropriately if subjected to military aggression. The letter stressed that all military entities of adversarial forces in the region are considered valid targets and held the United States accountable for any unforeseen consequences.

During the peace committee meeting, Trump claimed a peacemaker role, announcing contributions totaling $17 billion to the Gaza Restoration Fund, with the United States pledging $10 billion. The meeting saw participation from leaders and representatives of 47 countries. However, notable European allies abstained, citing concerns over the committee's ambiguous objectives and potential conflicts with the United Nations framework.
