Trump Warns of Intensified U.S. Strikes on Iran Over Oil Blockade Threat

Washington: U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a stern warning to Iran, indicating that the United States is ready to escalate its attacks on Iran to 20 times the current level if Iran interferes with or halts the transportation of oil through the Strait of Hormuz. This strategic waterway is crucial for the global oil supply.

According to Thai News Agency, Trump has also threatened to target critical assets in Iran, which would severely hinder the country’s ability to recover. This escalation comes amid heightened tensions between the U.S. and Iran, particularly concerning the control and security of the Strait of Hormuz, a vital corridor for oil shipments.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has responded assertively, vowing to prevent any oil exports from the region if the U.S. and Israel continue their military actions against Iran. The IRGC has emphasized that Iran will dictate the conclusion of the ongoing conflict, highlighting the high stakes involved in this geopolitical struggle.

In related developments, global oil prices have started to decrease after previously surging above $100 per barrel, a peak not seen in over three years. This downward trend follows President Trump’s optimistic remarks predicting an imminent resolution to the conflict in the Middle East.
