Bangkok: Two young men, identified as Mr. Surachai (Bas), 35, and Mr. Songklod (Rung), 37, have been arrested by Thung Maha Mek Police Station for allegedly assaulting a beautician known as Doctor Kla. The incident, which involved the use of helmets as weapons, reportedly stemmed from anger over verbal abuse by clinic staff. The accused were temporarily released after relatives posted an 80,000 baht bail.

According to Thai News Agency, the arrests were made under warrants No. 33/2568 and 34/2568, dated January 27, 2568, following an attack that occurred on January 25, 2015, at around 6:28 p.m. The victim was attacked by Mr. Surachai, who used a helmet to strike the victim’s head, face, and arms, and Mr. Songklod, who joined the assault. The victim managed to escape but was subsequently targeted again when Mr. Songklod threw a helmet at him. The suspects fled the scene on a red Honda PCX motorcycle.

The police investigation, aided by CCTV footage, helped identify the suspects. The Phra Nakhon South District Court later approved the arrest warrants. Both suspects appeared at Thung Maha Mek Police Station, where they were shown the warrants and taken into custody for prosecution.

Pol. Col. Phanom Chueathong, Superintendent of Thung Maha Mek Police Station, stated that the arrest was a joint operation with the Metropolitan Police Bureau and Metropolitan Police Division 5. Mr. Surachai and Mr. Songklod confessed to the assault, citing verbal abuse from clinic staff as the provocation. Further investigations are ongoing to determine if the attack was premeditated or if the suspects were hired for the assault. Both suspects have been granted bail after posting a total of 80,000 baht.
