Washington: The United States continues to pressure Iran in the ongoing nuclear dispute, with negotiations reaching an impasse despite persistent U.S. efforts. Israel is calling for the complete dismantling of Iran's nuclear facilities.
According to Thai News Agency, U.S. officials have disclosed that the military is ready to launch an operation against Iran if President Donald Trump gives the order. Additionally, a second U.S. aircraft carrier is on its way to the Middle East, equipped with thousands of personnel, fighter jets, destroyers, and other equipment, joining the USS Abraham Lincoln already stationed in the region.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has communicated to President Trump that any agreement between the U.S. and Iran must include the dismantling of Iran's nuclear facilities. This goes beyond the previous U.S. stance that focused solely on reducing Iran's uranium enrichment to zero to prevent nuclear weapons development.
Diplomatic efforts to resolve the conflict are ongoing. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi recently traveled to Geneva, Switzerland, to prepare for the second round of indirect talks with U.S. officials, led by U.S. Special Representative Steve Whitkoff. Jared Kushner, President Trump's advisor, noted that initial discussions in Muscat, Oman, were positive, yet no substantial progress was achieved.
In a recent public statement, Iran showed a more open stance. Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht-Ravanchi expressed Iran's willingness to compromise on its nuclear program in exchange for sanctions relief. However, he firmly denied any uranium enrichment activities, asserting Iran's right to nuclear energy for civilian use as a signatory to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.
