According to Thai News Agency, visitors from various backgrounds have started to explore the district, navigating both small and large alleys to purchase vegetarian ingredients or ready-made meals. Vendors have transformed their shopfronts into displays of green, offering everything from stir-fried noodles to a wide range of processed vegetarian ingredients. These preparations aim to meet the needs of those abstaining from meat, whether for serious commitment or convenience.
The festival, occurring from October 10-18, 2026, spans nine days and nights, with many participants beginning their preparations on October 9th to cleanse their bodies and minds. Beyond religious observance, the festival showcases a lifestyle where ancient Chinese food culture merges with modern urban life. The event is characterized by the smiles of elderly vendors, the enticing aromas of spices, and the lively energy of a community that has upheld this culinary tradition across generations.
