He contacted the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security to ask for help.Mr. Varawut Silpa-archa, Minister of Social Development and Human Security (MSDHS), revealed the case of an 86-year-old elderly woman from Tan Sum District, Ubon Ratchathani Province, who was physically abused by her adopted son, who seized her bankbook, elderly allowance, and disability allowance, causing the grandmother to flee into the country to seek help from an acquaintance who contacted the Center for Accelerated Public Welfare Management (CWRM), stating that the Center for Accelerated Public Welfare Management (CWRM) reported that on October 19, 2014, the CWRM Ubon Ratchathani team went to the area to investigate the facts and found that the 86-year-old elderly woman living in Tan Sum District, Ubon Ratchathani Province, was physically abu sed by her adopted son, causing her to flee the house and ask for a ride on a bus into Ubon Ratchathani City to seek help from good citizens, as they had known each other before and had been in regular contact.The Ubon Ratchathani Provincial Emergency Response Team spoke with the old woman's adopted daughter. From questioning, it was found that she was someone the old woman had taken care of before becoming a nun. She was not an adopted daughter in any way, but they often argued. On that day, she pushed the old woman, which scared and shocked her. She left the house and went to stay with the good Samaritan who reported the incident. After that, the good Samaritan took the old woman to file a police report at the Tal Sum Police Station and took her to stay at the house as the old woman wished. The Ubon Ratchathani Provincial Emergency Response Team traveled to the good Samaritan's house to assess the condition of the house, which was found to be safe and clean. In addition, the good Samaritan was willing to take care of the old woman. However, the Ubon Ratchathani Provincial Emergency Response Team will hold a multidisciplinary team meeting to plan ongoing assistance and to provide physical and mental rehabilitation. If the old woman wishes to seek care from the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, the Ubon Ratchathani Provincial Emergency Response Team will take care of her under the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security's protection agency.Source: Thai News Agency
