Bangkok: Yotsanan Wongsawat, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, addressed the circulating rumors about a potential "green-red" political alliance, reiterating his unawareness of such a formation and affirming the unity within the government. He emphasized that the government's focus remains on serving the people, particularly in areas concerning economic challenges and natural disasters like floods and droughts.
According to Thai News Agency, Yotsanan stated that the Pheu Thai Party, as a coalition partner, is diligently working to assist the populace amid various crises. He expressed his desire to keep political issues from tarnishing the government's atmosphere and declined to comment on the relationship between Pheu Thai and the Kla Tham Party, led by Captain Thamanat Promphao. Yotsanan confirmed that he collaborates closely with Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, emphasizing that they do not seek consultations from others outside their working relationship.
When pressed on the authority within the Pheu Thai Party to discuss or decide on these matters, Yotsanan clarified his dual role, stating that while he serves as a party advisor, his primary responsibility as Deputy Prime Minister is to govern the country effectively. He reassured the public of the government's commitment to its responsibilities and urged against worrying about potential political alliances.
