Bangkok: A young man recently shared a warning to fellow car owners after discovering that a criminal exploited a brief loophole in his vehicle’s automatic locking system. This split-second delay allowed a thief to enter his car while it was parked at a shopping mall, though fortunately, no valuables were taken. The car owner suspects the involvement of a gang in this incident.
According to Thai News Agency, the owner posted footage from his vehicle’s cameras on the “TESLA THAILAND” group to alert others. The video showed how a thief used the momentary delay in the car’s auto-lock feature to gain entry and rummage through the vehicle.
The incident occurred in the Bang Yai area, where the owner had parked his car to dine at a shopping mall. He explained that he assumed the car had locked automatically, as it usually did. However, upon returning, he discovered a foreign water bottle inside the car. After confirming with his mother that it did not belong to her, he reviewed the camera footage and realized his
car had been searched. Fortunately, none of his belongings, including a MacBook that was left in the car, were stolen, possibly due to the thief’s hurried search. The owner emphasized that no other valuables were left inside the vehicle.
