Bangkok: An 85-year-old inmate from the State Audit Office case has been transferred to Bhumibol Hospital after experiencing severe stress and weakness in his left hemisphere. The inmate, Pimol Charoenying, was initially held at the infirmary of Bangkok Special Prison’s first reception area before being moved for further medical evaluation and treatment.
According to Thai News Agency, Pol. Lt. Col. Chain Kanchanapat, the deputy director-general of the Department of Corrections and spokesperson for the department, reported that Mr. Charoenying was experiencing stress and several underlying health conditions, leading to a lack of functionality on the left side of his body. Initial assessments at the Corrections Department Hospital suggested potential blood vessel involvement, prompting the urgent transfer to Bhumibol Hospital.
In a related development, Mr. Premchai Karnasut, another elderly prisoner involved in the same case, has been admitted to the Corrections Department Hospital. He was sent for medical evaluation due to respiratory symptoms, compounded by multiple underlying health issues and advanced age, necessitating his admission for treatment.
