Bangkok: Aeronautical Radio of Thailand (AeroThai) has awarded 178 scholarships totaling 1.78 million baht through the Thai Airspace Foundation, continuing its efforts to support disabled children in living normal lives and improving their quality of life alongside transportation infrastructure.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Phatarapong Phatprasit, Deputy Minister of Transport, presided over the scholarship award ceremony for disabled children of the Thai Air Force Foundation for the year 2026. Also present were Mr. Pichet Kunathamarak, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Aeronautical Radio of Thailand Co., Ltd., and Mr. Surachai Nuphrom, Deputy Managing Director and Acting Managing Director of Aeronautical Radio of Thailand Co., Ltd. This year marks Aeronautical Radio of Thailand's 78th anniversary. Therefore, 88 scholarships of 10,000 baht each were awarded to children in Bangkok and surrounding areas, along with an additional 90 scholarships from regional air traffic control centers, totaling 178 scholarships with a total scholarship budget of 1,780,000 baht. The aim is to promote educational opportunities and improve the quality of life for underprivileged primary school children with disabilities.
The number of scholarships is expected to increase this year, with plans to raise more funds in the future to assist underprivileged children nationwide through collaboration with air traffic control centers in all areas where such centers are located.
In addition, the Thai Sky Foundation, in collaboration with the Dhammikachon Foundation for the Blind in Thailand under Royal Patronage, accepted donations that allow donors to receive double the tax benefit. A total of 190,662 baht was donated through the Dhammikachon Foundation, sufficient to provide 19 scholarships.
Mr. Phatarapong emphasized that Aeronautical Radio of Thailand Co., Ltd. operates with the intention of creating societal benefits, aligning with the government and Ministry of Transport's policies to improve people's quality of life through educational opportunities and human resource development. The Ministry of Transport's main policy focuses on developing infrastructure and human resources through education.
The Thai Sky Foundation plays a crucial role in empowering disabled children and vulnerable youth, enabling them to learn, develop, and grow into responsible citizens. The foundation also commends and encourages parents, who form a vital foundation for caring for these children.
