Bangkok: The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, through its Culture, Sports and Tourism Department, recently held a closing ceremony for BANGKOK ESPORTS 2026, presenting awards to the winning athletes. The event, which took place from July 18-19, 2026, at Fashion Island Shopping Mall in Khan Na Yao District, Bangkok, saw participation from over 1,300 competitors across 140 teams. These participants competed in four sports categories and ten age groups for a total prize pool of 336,000 baht. The vibrant atmosphere was marked by the presence of young enthusiasts, parents, and members of the public.
According to Thai News Agency, the awards presentation was graced by Ms. Panida Kaewmak, Deputy Director of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration's Culture, Sports and Tourism Department, along with other executives. Ms. Mallika Luangnimitramat, Marketing Director for Thailand, TCP Group, also attended to present awards and congratulate the athletes. This collaboration between public and private sectors highlights their commitment to promoting and developing esports in Thailand.
The purpose of BANGKOK ESPORTS 2026 was to enhance the potential of youth and the general public by providing a platform to demonstrate their esports skills. The event aimed to deliver a high-standard competitive experience and open opportunities for players to progress to advanced levels of competition. It also sought to foster an esports community network within Bangkok. The competition featured popular games like Arena of Valor (RoV), Free Fire, FC Online, and Street Fighter VI, attracting a large number of spectators and followers.
