Anutin Charnvirakul Addresses NBTC Meeting Concerns

Bangkok: Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul addressed the ongoing situation involving the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) and its chairman, Dr. Soran Boonbaichaiyapruk. Anutin reiterated that Dr. Soran, who remains the chairman, is acting in accordance with the law.

According to Thai News Agency, during a recent NBTC meeting, Dr. Soran insisted on attending despite ongoing discussions about his tenure. Prime Minister Anutin emphasized that issues concerning the NBTC board meeting are internal matters for the NBTC itself. However, he made it clear that he is committed to ensuring that all actions taken are within legal boundaries. When questioned about the necessity of waiting for Senate approval, Anutin firmly stated that his actions remain lawful and justified.

Further inquiries from reporters touched on whether the Prime Minister would seek royal approval to address the committee's decision regarding Dr. Soran's qualifications. Anutin responded that he intends to adhere to all legal procedures, ensuring that the matter is appropriately resolved.
