“Big Hong” Re-Elected as President of Thai Billiards Association for Third Term

Bangkok:"Big Hong" Sunthorn Jarumong has been unanimously re-elected as the president of the Thai Billiards Association for a third consecutive term. During the association's extraordinary meeting at Hokitchen Restaurant on Rama 3, Sunthorn was confirmed for another four-year term, running from 2026 to 2029, after being the sole nominee for the position.

According to Thai News Agency, the meeting was attended by representatives from all 26 member clubs, who gave their unanimous approval for Sunthorn's re-election. The election process was overseen by Police Lieutenant General Distat Phuripochot, who served as the chairman of the election committee.

Sunthorn expressed his gratitude to the member clubs for their continued support. He outlined his plans to enhance the sport in the country, despite the association facing a budget deficit. He announced the introduction of a "Pool Ranking" tournament aimed at increasing the sport's popularity nationwide. Additionally, a series of snooker and billiards competitions are set to take place throughout the year, including the Thailand ranking snooker tournaments and the Thailand Pool Championship.

He also revealed plans to start training for the 2026 Asian Indoor Games in Saudi Arabia. Although initially delayed due to floods and the 2026 Asian Games in Japan, training is expected to commence next week. Furthermore, preparations for the 2027 SEA Games in Malaysia will follow, with training sessions to be held at the association's facility in Kiattada Golf Training Ground, Kaset-Nawamin, Ladprao 71.
