Pattani: Unrest in the South continues as assailants planted bombs and opened fire in Sai Buri District, Pattani Province, resulting in the deaths of three officers and injuring another. The attack occurred on March 8, 2025, at approximately 11:20 p.m. in the area of Ban Hu Taek Alae, Village No. 3, Tra Bon Subdistrict, following an earlier shooting incident involving rangers from the 4411th Ranger Company.
According to Thai News Agency, officers from the 44th Ranger Regiment Task Force were notified of the bomb explosion. Earlier in the evening, at around 6:00 p.m., officers had extended their operations to secure the area near the Ban Hu Taek Alae intersection. The attack later took place at a pavilion near this intersection, claiming the lives of one ranger and two assistant village headmen. The victims have been identified as As.T.P. Samai Bunyong, Assistant Maromlee Mayadeng, and Assistant Adison Doloh. Additionally, Assistant Harong Yelae from M.9 sustained injuries to his arm during the incident.
