Bangkok: Relatives of the victim request to receive assets and plead not to transfer him to another hospital yet, fearing his condition will worsen. The girlfriend of a sound engineer victim of the brewery fire pleaded with authorities not to transfer her to another hospital, fearing her condition remains critical after suffering burns to 60% of her body. Meanwhile, the Social Security Office is visiting the site to follow up on the fire victims and expedite the verification of compensation entitlements for the injured and deceased.
According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Prapharak, the girlfriend of Mr. Panuwat Tipmanee, a sound engineer at the beer garden in Ladprao, came to Phaholyothin Police Station to retrieve her boyfriend's belongings and car that were parked behind the restaurant. Initial inspection revealed the car was undamaged, but the car keys may be missing, possibly inside the restaurant or with the investigating officer.
The woman explained that her boyfriend had been working at the shop for about three years, relying solely on his universal healthcare coverage (gold card) and having no other benefits or social security. He sustained severe injuries; doctors reported burns covering approximately 60% of his body and significant smoke inhalation leading to kidney failure. He also has large wounds on his abdomen. He is currently being treated in a sterile room, conscious but on a ventilator, under the Universal Coverage for Emergency Patients (UCEP) scheme. She was informed that after 72 hours, or tomorrow, he may need to be transferred to a hospital in Lopburi province, his hometown, under his gold card coverage. She is preparing to discuss with the hospital in Bangkok about transferring his healthcare coverage from Lopburi to Bangkok. She is concerned about the high medical costs of moving him while his condition remains unstable.
