Bangkok: A ceiling collapse in the Parliament building's B2 floor dining area has led to urgent safety inspections, though no injuries were reported.
According to Thai News Agency, the incident occurred on a holiday, which meant the normally busy dining area was empty, preventing potential injuries to government officials, MPs, and senators who frequently use the space. The collapse caused significant damage to tables and chairs below the ceiling.
Officials and engineers are currently investigating the cause of the collapse, examining potential structural issues, moisture accumulation, or material deterioration. In response, the affected area has been cordoned off for repairs and a comprehensive safety inspection of the entire building is underway.
