Chatchart Sittiphan Draws Number 9 for Bangkok Gubernatorial Election

Bangkok: The candidate numbers for the upcoming Bangkok gubernatorial election have been officially assigned, with Chatchart Sittiphan drawing number 9. The process, held at the Bangkok Room, B2 floor of the Irawatthana Building at Bangkok City Hall 2 in Din Daeng, was conducted by the Bangkok Election Commission. It commenced at 8:30 AM amidst a lively atmosphere filled with candidates and their teams eagerly awaiting their respective numbers.

According to Thai News Agency, the election procedure began with the drawing of lots to determine the order in which candidates would select their official campaign numbers. The Director of Local Elections for Bangkok meticulously explained the process to ensure fairness and transparency. Pol. Lt. Gen. Charntep Sesawetch was the first to draw, followed by Mr. Chaiwat Sathavorawichit. The candidates drew their numbers from a container filled with pre-numbered slips, which had been mixed to prevent any prior identification.

The preliminary results of the candidate number drawing are as follows: Pol. Gen. Charntep Sesawetch from the Economic Party received number 12, Mr. Chaiwat Sathavorawichit from the People’s Party got number 10, and Mr. Komsan Phanvichatikul, running as an independent, drew number 13. Other notable numbers include Mr. Phisarn Kittiyawamal with number 6, Mr. Phasapong Chaiwirinwanich with number 7, and Mr. Prayoon Krongyot with number 11.

Mallika Mahasuk, an independent candidate, was unable to secure a candidate number as she failed to register by the designated time of 8:30 AM. Despite submitting her application and a cash payment of 50,000 baht, her late arrival resulted in her exclusion from the candidate number assignment.
