Chiang mai: Chiang Mai province opened the 49th Chiang Mai Flower Festival 2026 with a grand parade of 23 spectacularly decorated floats, amidst a large crowd of tourists from around the world who came to admire the beauty. Mr. Chatchawal Panya, Deputy Governor of Chiang Mai Province, officially opened the festival at the foot of Nawarat Bridge, in front of the Governor's Residence. A large number of tourists gathered to admire the beautiful flower floats along the route, a major world highlight of the event.
According to Thai News Agency, the parade featured 23 floral floats from government and private sector organizations, under the theme "The Queen's Flowers Resound Throughout the Sky, the Precious City of Chiang Mai." These floats were adorned with a wide variety of fresh and artificial flowers in an exquisite display, reflecting the rare wisdom and artistry of Lanna culture.
The most colorful part of the parade will be the floats from the Miss Chiang Mai and Miss Chiang Mai in My Heart pageants, featuring beautiful women, handsome men, and members of the LGBTQ+ community dressed up to participate. The entire floral parade will move from the foot of the Nawarat Bridge, through the main economic area, and towards Nong Buak Haad Public Park, which is filled with a large number of Thai and foreign tourists who have gathered to watch the beautiful spectacle. Many said they were amazed by the beauty of both the floral parade and the people participating in it.
