Bangkok: "Chulaphan" expresses concern for the families of those who died in the Lat Phrao brewery fire and instructs the Social Security Office to expedite compensation.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Chulaphan Amornvivat, Minister of Labour, has expressed his concern for the families affected by the tragic fire at the Ladprao Beer Garden. The incident, which occurred on July 12th at 00:02 AM, resulted in 34 deaths and numerous injuries. Mr. Chulaphan has directed the Social Security Office to immediately investigate the matter, collaborate with relevant agencies, and ensure that compensation is provided to the heirs of the deceased employees and insured persons, as well as the injured, in a full, swift, and fair manner.
Ms. Kanjana Poolkaew, Secretary-General of the Social Security Office, stated that efforts are being made to facilitate the use of medical treatment rights and the application for benefits. The office is providing advice on necessary documents and procedures to ensure that heirs receive compensation as quickly as possible.
Preliminary investigations have revealed that 22 of the deceased were employees insured under the social security system. This includes 8 individuals insured under Section 33, whose heirs are entitled to funeral expenses of 50,000 baht and a retirement benefit from the social security fund, in accordance with legal conditions. Additionally, 4 individuals insured under Section 40 are also entitled to a retirement benefit from the social security fund.
