Democrat Party Unveils AI System to Combat Corruption and Traffic Woes in Bangkok

Bangkok: Anucha Burapachaisri, the Democrat Party's candidate for Bangkok Governor, has declared the party's readiness to tackle corruption by introducing an AI-powered system designed to monitor government activities and scrutinize Bangkok's budget.

According to Thai News Agency, in the concluding phase of his campaign, Anucha emphasized his dedication to transparent politics, underscoring that the Democrat Party will not stand for any form of corruption. He also highlighted the importance of using feeder buses to ease traffic congestion and leveraging technology to solve wastewater challenges.

Mr. Anucha, who is running as candidate number 5, began his day campaigning at Thonburirom Park alongside Mr. Pongpat Piamsawat, the Bangkok City Council candidate for Thung Khru district, also number 5. Following this, he visited the morning market on Soi Suk Sawat 38 with Mr. Sawai Chotikasupa, the candidate for Rat Burana district, number 2. During these interactions, residents expressed their concerns, particularly about severe traffic congestion exacerbated by the construction of the mass transit system. Anucha proposed the introduction of "small feeder buses" to provide a seamless connection to the main public transportation network, thereby reducing reliance on private cars and enhancing travel convenience.

In addition to addressing traffic issues, Anucha outlined strategies to tackle flooding and stagnant water problems in communities. He advocated for the installation of Internet of Things (IoT) technology at floodgates and bridges for real-time water level monitoring and automated floodgate operations. Anucha stressed the need for effective garbage management in National Housing Authority areas, urging the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) to lead initiatives for efficient garbage collection, aiming for a cleaner city and improved quality of life.

As the election campaign enters its final stretch, Anucha responded to inquiries regarding the heightened scrutiny and competition among candidates. He emphasized that transparency and fighting corruption are central to the Democrat Party's values, echoing the ethos of party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva. The party has launched "Songrat," an AI-driven platform to analyze and scrutinize Bangkok's budget and projects for any discrepancies. He invited citizens to report any suspected corruption through the platform, ensuring thorough and impartial investigations. "Our goal is to make Bangkok a transparent and accountable city," Anucha concluded.
