According to Thai News Agency, Yotsanun maintains that the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) has adhered to all necessary procedures, ensuring there is no cause for concern. He emphasized his preparedness to address any inquiries related to the ministry's operations, including AI projects, by highlighting the establishment of a dedicated committee to oversee these initiatives.
In an interview regarding the opposition's plan to submit a no-confidence motion, Yotsanun expressed his commitment to the responsibilities entrusted to him, affirming that his focus remains on fulfilling his ministerial duties. He clarified that his approach is not driven by personal interests but rather by a dedication to the task assigned to him by the country.
In addition to his duties as Deputy Prime Minister, Yotsanun, as chairman of the 1st National Geographic Information Committee Meeting of 2026, shared his vision for transforming data into intelligence to bolster Thailand's economy. Yotsanun further elaborated on the restructuring of three newly established committees to create a "Data Foundation." This initiative focuses on integrating geospatial data, emphasizing the importance of Open Data, now termed GOAI, for expanding information technology's reach. The ultimate goal is to develop a "Digital Twin" of Thailand, providing a comprehensive view of environmental factors to simulate the country's future.
The Deputy Prime Minister reiterated his confidence in the alignment of these initiatives with government policy, anticipating public interest and scrutiny in upcoming meetings as Thailand aims to create a futuristic simulation model through its Digital Twin Thailand plan.
