Bangkok: FIFA is confident that the halftime show will add a cultural dimension to the 2026 World Cup. The International Federation of Football (FIFA) is set to make history by staging a spectacular halftime show for the first-ever World Cup final, featuring a number of world-class artists. The match will take place on July 19th at the New York-New Jersey Stadium.
According to Thai News Agency, Hugh Evans, CEO and co-founder of Global Citizen, the organization behind the performance, revealed that the previous World Cup had over 1.5 billion viewers worldwide, making it a platform that can connect people from all countries. He emphasized that music is a universal language that transcends boundaries and will help enrich the cultural dimension of the greatest sporting event.
Evans confirmed that the performance would last only 11 minutes to avoid disrupting the match, and emphasized the importance of meticulous field maintenance. All performers and crew members followed established protocols to prevent damage to even a single blade of grass.
This historic performance will feature world-class artists such as Madonna, Shakira, Berna Boy, BTS, and Justin Bieber, with the goal of raising $100 million to support educational opportunities for children and youth worldwide.
