Bangkok: Laworn Saengsanit, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, announced that the Ministry will deliberate this afternoon on the potential extension of the "Thai Helps Thai Plus Phase 2" program for an additional two months. This extension includes a 1,000 baht assistance payment, as noted by the government spokesperson.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Lawaron emphasized that inquiries regarding this extension should be addressed to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Mr. Ekniti Nitithanprapas. The discussion, set for this afternoon, aims to finalize the decision on the program's continuation. Mr. Lawaron conveyed that they would explore the possibility of utilizing budget allocations beyond loans for funding the project.
The Permanent Secretary added that whether the matter will be presented at the Cabinet meeting next Tuesday remains uncertain. He advised patience, stating, "Let's wait until everything is finalized. I don't want to say anything that might be wrong."
