Bangkok:The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) and the Government Savings Bank have successfully transferred flood relief funds in three installments to a total of 48,601 households, amounting to over 409 million baht.
According to Thai News Agency, the relief payments are part of the ongoing efforts to assist those affected by the 2026 rainy season, following a resolution by the Cabinet. Today, a significant portion of the funds, totaling 302,139,000 baht, was distributed to the accounts of 36,899 households impacted by the floods.
Each of the 29,411 households in eight provinces, including Bangkok, Saraburi, Rayong, Chiang Mai, Surat Thani, Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, and Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, received 9,000 baht, amounting to a total of 264,699,000 baht. Additionally, households in five provinces—Bangkok, Rayong, Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, and Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya—were allocated 5,000 baht each, totaling 7,488 households and 37,440,000 baht.
The relief efforts also included compensation of 2,000,000 baht each for the families of five deceased individuals, leading to a total compensation of 10,000,000 baht.
However, some households have not yet received the funds due to issues with linking their Prompt Pay accounts to their national identification numbers. The DDPM and the Government Savings Bank are working with local authorities to inform and assist these households in updating their account information to facilitate the transfer of funds.
