Bangkok: An accident occurred at a traffic light intersection in Pak Chong Municipality, Nakhon Ratchasima Province, when a foreign national riding a motorcycle at high speed ran a red light and collided violently with a pickup truck that was turning right according to the green light. The foreign national died as a result of the collision.
According to Thai News Agency, CCTV footage from the scene of the accident at the intersection leading to Wat Khao Sai Sayan on the old Mittraphap Road, Pak Chong District, shows a foreign national on a motorcycle speeding towards Pak Chong town. Upon reaching the intersection, a pickup truck was waiting to turn right with a green light. The pickup truck began to turn, but the foreign national on the motorcycle ran a red light at high speed, crashing head-on into the front left side of the pickup truck.
The foreign national was thrown over the pickup truck and landed on the opposite side, sustaining serious injuries. The Harley-Davidson motorcycle was severely damaged. Rescue workers performed CPR before transporting the foreign national to Pak Chong Nana Hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries and died en route. A pregnant woman, approximately 7 months pregnant, who was in the front passenger seat of the pickup truck, was also injured and rushed to Pak Chong Nana Hospital. Pak Chong Police are currently reviewing CCTV footage and gathering evidence to proceed with legal action.
