Mae hong son: Continuous heavy rainfall triggered flash floods and landslides across three districts in Mae Hong Son province, damaging roads, bridges, and homes. No casualties or injuries have been reported following the severe weather across Mae La Noi, Khun Yuam, and Mae Sariang districts.
According to Thai News Agency, in Mae La Noi district, floodwaters destroyed a bridge approach connecting Ban Saraphi and Ban Pa Mak, while fallen trees temporarily blocked Highway 108 near Mae La Noi Darunsik School before officials successfully cleared the route for traffic. Floodwaters that inundated local communities have since receded to normal levels as authorities begin assessing damages and assisting affected residents.
In Khun Yuam district, flash floods inundated a local school and 20 households in Ban Mae Sape Tai, marking the fourth and most severe flooding event in the area this year. Water and mud submerged three school buildings, a meeting room, and teacher quarters, though flood levels are expected to dry out completely by tomorrow morning as local officials, teachers, and residents initiate cleanup operations.
Meanwhile, in Mae Sariang district, the overflowing Mae Sariang River flooded nearby roads, rendering the Ban Mai-Wang Yao route impassable as local authorities remain on high alert to monitor the situation.
