Khon kaen: Outrage erupted after a 24-year-old delivery rider, in a fit of rage, hit a 61-year-old woman lying injured in the middle of the road. Enraged and in a hurry to deliver food, he refused to help her and instead physically assaulted her.
According to Thai News Agency, a video captured by a concerned citizen shows the behavior of a delivery rider after a motorcycle accident at a U-turn on Srichan Road, Ban Bakham, Khon Kaen Municipality. The accident resulted in injuries and the rider's food delivery box falling onto the road. A tall, thin man, identified as a delivery rider, was seen muttering to himself before kicking the injured woman, an elderly woman, once while she lay injured in the middle of the road. Bystanders intervened, separating the man from the injured woman.
Mr. A (pseudonym), 24 years old, the perpetrator, sustained a head injury, while the injured party, Ms. Somphan, 61 years old, had injuries to her left foot and head. Emergency medical personnel provided first aid to both injured individuals and transported them to the hospital.
According to the Superintendent of Khon Kaen City Police Station, the incident stemmed from a minor traffic collision between the motorcycle riders. Angered by the collision and a desire to quickly deliver food, the rider assaulted the victim. The victim's parents have already met with investigators, and a detailed investigation is underway.
