‘Inside Thailand’ Hosts Plan Departure from Channel 9 MCOT HD

Bangkok: "Old Dog" insists there are no problems with MCOT, reiterates he will not quit media work, and is preparing to find a new platform.

According to Thai News Agency, the announcement by Mr. Danai Ekmahasawas and Ms. Amornrat Mahithiruk, hosts of the program 'Inside Thailand,' to cease broadcasting on Channel 9 MCOT HD (number 30) on June 30, 2026, has sparked discussions. Ms. Pakamon Nunanan, a party-list MP and spokesperson for the People's Party, voiced on Facebook that the decision might be influenced by external forces. She suggested that the government, under the 'blue regime,' is orchestrating the situation, silencing media voices that question public fund usage, which she argued should be open to public scrutiny. The Committee on Political Development has expressed readiness to investigate these claims.

Recently, Mr. Danai and Ms. Amornrat clarified on the online program 'Inside Thailand' that their departure from the platform does not signify an end to their careers as journalists. They assured that there are no conflicts with the station or MCOT management. Their tenure on Channel 9, spanning nearly seven years and multiple government administrations, has been fulfilling, and they now seek new challenges in media work. They expressed gratitude to the management and team for their support throughout the years.

The hosts are exploring new platforms suitable for the program's format but have not disclosed specific plans. They promised to update their followers on their Facebook page, 'Inside Thailand,' once decisions are finalized.

'Inside Thailand' will continue its regular broadcasts on Channel 9 MCOT HD until its concluding episode on June 30, 2026. The presenters are committed to delivering news and public issues effectively until the final broadcast.
