Kanjana Silpa-archa Highlights Varawut’s Role as Minister of Industry

Bangkok: Kanjana Silpa-archa declared that Varawut Silpa-archa, as Minister of Industry and former member of the Chart Thai Party, is set to effectively serve the populace through his work in parliament. She emphasized that the political affiliation is insignificant as long as there is potential to work for the people.

According to Thai News Agency, the Chart Thai Pattana Party recently held its 2nd Annual General Meeting of 2026, chaired by Ms. Kanjana Silpa-archa, the party leader. The gathering included key figures such as Mr. Jongchai Thiangtham, Mr. Thira Wongsamut, and Mr. Somchai Sujit. During the meeting, Ms. Kanjana shared insights regarding the political landscape following recent elections. She highlighted that Mr. Varawut Silpa-archa, once a leader of the Chart Thai Development Party, now serves as the Minister of Industry. Former MPs from the Chart Thai Development Party have transitioned to the Bhumjaithai Party, enabling them to continue serving the public.

Ms. Kanjana addressed misconceptions surrounding the party switch, stating that Mr. Varawut's move to the Bhumjaithai Party was strategic for maximizing his potential to serve the people. She argued that holding a political position significantly enhances one's ability to serve, a reality that outweighs the idealistic notion of being able to work from anywhere. She further clarified that while Mr. Varawut's move might have sparked criticism, it mirrors a historical pattern where political transitions facilitated greater public service.

She also addressed claims regarding the founding of the Chart Thai Party, clarifying that it was established by prominent figures in 1974, not by former Prime Minister Banharn Silpa-archa. She emphasized that Mr. Banharn joined the party to gain a platform for serving the people, similar to Mr. Varawut's transition to the Bhumjaithai Party for broader opportunities.

The meeting also touched on current challenges, notably high fuel prices attributed to international conflicts rather than domestic issues. Ms. Kanjana urged the public to understand the global context affecting fuel costs and encouraged energy conservation. She drew parallels with the COVID-19 crisis, expressing confidence that the current challenges are surmountable.

In conclusion, the meeting acknowledged various administrative and financial matters for the party. Despite not having MPs, the Chart Thai Pattana Party remains committed to representing the public's interests and coordinating with Bhumjaithai Party MPs to address concerns effectively. Ms. Kanjana reassured the people of Suphan Buri that their needs would continue to be met regardless of political affiliations, emphasizing that public service transcends party lines.
