Ministry of Finance Urges Preparation for Bond Connect Purchase

Bangkok: The Ministry of Finance is urging those who missed the recent Savings Plus subscription to prepare for the upcoming purchase opportunity through the Bond Connect Platform from August 3 to 5. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Ekniti Nitithanprapas, expressed gratitude to the public for their interest in the Savings Plus government bonds, which were offered through the "Paotang" app. The entire allocation of 2 billion baht was sold out in just 21 seconds, indicating robust public savings activity.

According to Thai News Agency, Ekniti emphasized that the interest rate boost provided by these bonds contributes to financial stability and encourages long-term savings among Thais. For those who missed the initial offering, Ekniti invited them to prepare for the next opportunity in August 2026, with a minimum purchase set at 1,000 baht. Priority will be given to small lots, and sales will continue monthly through the Bond Connect Platform. Further details are available on the Ministry of Finance's website and participating agencies' online platforms.

Ekniti also highlighted the growing interest from foreign investors in Thailand, attributing it to the country's stable and secure environment, strong financial standing, and fiscal discipline. He noted that the Thai stock market is receiving increased attention, and plans are underway to introduce new products, such as Thailand Future Funds, aligning with the BOI's IPO policy. This initiative is anticipated to further boost investor interest in the Thai market.
