Bang bua thong: The mother of "Sam," who has been accused of committing a gruesome murder involving a body being stuffed into a cement-filled bag and dumped in a water body in Nonthaburi province, met with the police to advocate for her son's innocence. She is determined to fight the case and has urged the police to locate "Mr. Toey," as her attempts to contact him have been unsuccessful since the incident.
According to Thai News Agency, a large team of over 20 investigators from Provincial Police Region 1, Nonthaburi Provincial Police, and Bang Bua Thong Police Station executed an arrest warrant from the Nonthaburi Provincial Court at Sam's residence. The charges included "intentional homicide" and "concealing a corpse." Before his arrest, Sam negotiated with the officers, expressing his wish to wait for a friend coming from Pathum Thani Province. After his friend's arrival, Sam surrendered voluntarily and was taken into custody.
Upon reaching the Bang Bua Thong Police Station, Sam's friend exited the vehicle first, followed by Sam, who shielded his face with his hands and declined to respond to media inquiries. During initial questioning, Sam consistently denied the charges against him.
Police have verified that the body discovered in the container was male, and efforts to identify it are ongoing. Just before Sam's arrest, rescue divers retrieved a blue plastic container from a vast 300-rai pond. Forensic experts and doctors from the Institute of Forensic Medicine at the Police Hospital examined the container. They used a power saw to open it, revealing a cement block with decomposed human remains inside.
Authorities have confirmed that the body was dismembered and concealed within the container. The investigation is advancing towards officially identifying the deceased.
The case traces back to when Mr. Uten's relatives reported his mysterious disappearance about a month ago to the Bang Bua Thong Police Station. On June 26th, police apprehended Mr. Bird, an accomplice, who admitted to helping conceal the body. Mr. Bird alleged that Sam used a modified speargun with .22 caliber bullets to kill Mr. Uten.
