Bangkok: The Thai-Myanmar Association for Friendship is hosting a business forum to highlight investment opportunities in Myanmar during an official visit by Myanmar's leader.
According to Thai News Agency, Association President Pitsanu Suvanajata announced that the "Thai-Myanmar Business Forum 2026" is slated for Aug. 6 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center. The event, themed "A New Chapter in Thailand-Myanmar Business Partnership," will feature keynote speeches by Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul and Senior Gen. Min Aung Hlaing.
The morning sessions will include discussions on business opportunities and a consultation clinic for potential investors. These are being co-organized by the Thai Business Association in Myanmar (TBAM) and the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI). Keynote addresses are scheduled to commence at 2:30 p.m., followed by panel discussions focusing on regulatory environments and sustainable trade.
Pitsanu stated that the event aims to provide Thai businesses with accurate insights into current market conditions and regulations, thereby reinforcing private-sector ties between the neighboring nations.
The association, founded in 2007, seeks to strengthen bilateral and people-to-people relations and regularly conducts humanitarian, trade, and cultural initiatives. Its 20-member board for the 2026-2028 term, which received approval from the prime minister, includes 14 designated members and six ex-officio representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
