Bangkok: Authorities arrested a Northern Irish hacker at a hotel in the On Nut area. Immigration Bureau Division 1 raided the hotel and apprehended the 50-year-old fugitive, who was wanted on fraud charges totaling over 1.7 million baht.

According to Thai News Agency, the Immigration Police Division 1 had been on the lookout for the hacker for over two years. The suspect was accused of fraud and hacking a payment gateway system, resulting in damages exceeding 1.7 million baht. In addition, he used fake credit cards to check into several luxury hotels, but the transactions failed as the real cardholders had already blocked the cards overseas. This resulted in losses of over 2 million baht for the hotels.
