Pattaya: Pong, Thong, Fluke, and Ball have been remanded in custody in connection with the Pattaya murder case involving five people. Their father insists they will not be granted bail.
According to Thai News Agency, at Huai Yai Police Station in Chonburi Province, police officers detained Mr. Thana, also known as "Pong," Mr. Thongchai, also known as "Thong," along with two other suspects, "Fluke" and "Ball," to be brought before the court for remand. They are being prosecuted in connection with the horrific murder of five people: two Russian siblings and a Thai family (father, mother, and child), who were killed and buried in Chonburi Province.
Following an overnight investigation, officers compiled profiles, took fingerprints, and prepared documents for the detention request. All suspects appeared tense and refused to answer media questions about their motives for the crime or their responsibility to the victim's family.
Before being taken to court, Mr. Pong's aunt, who had raised him since childhood, brought food and drinks to visit him. She revealed that while she still loves her nephew as family, she cannot accept what happened. If the court finds him guilty, she is ready to accept the judicial process and will not apply for bail because she has no assets and is concerned that he might commit the same crime if released.
The aunt also stated that Mr. Pong had intended to start a new life after being released from prison, to work and support his family, but he committed this serious crime in less than two months, causing great sadness and disappointment to the family. She confirmed that she was never aware of any police uniforms or equipment related to law enforcement in the house and did not know who was behind the crime.
Regarding the progress of the case, it has been reported that Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul, along with Police General Kittirat Panpetch, the National Police Chief, are preparing to personally inspect the scene. They will travel by helicopter, landing at the Viharn Sian helipad, before closely monitoring the case's progress and inspecting the incident site.
